7. McLeod Ganj

The best part about Mcleod Ganj is that it's super cheap. You can easily find great accommodations here for 1000rs per night. There are quite a few trekking trails near this place which is why its a great place to base yourself while you explore the regions around it. The Tirund trek is a must-do when you are in Mcleod ganj.

8. Pondicherry

Pondicherry is a place for luxury as well as cheap traveling. Auroville Ashram, a famous landmark in Pondicherry will let you stay for nothing. But you will have to help around in the place which includes cleaning and farming. You get to earn your keep and get a completely different living experience.
